The Salt Sanctuary of Maryland began with a simple yet powerful understanding that health is a precious aspect of life that can be protected, improved, and maintained so that life can be enjoyed and lived to the fullest! And what could be more essential to good health than breathing? Breathing provides life-giving oxygen to every cell in our bodies. But many living in Maryland and throughout the US are not able to breathe properly due to chronic health conditions such as asthma, allergies, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), sinusitis and Cystic Fibrosis. Environmental allergens, pollutants, pathogens, toxins, and even swings in temperature and humidity can impact the sinuses and respiratory tract making breathing difficult, depleting energy and overall health.
The Salt Sanctuary of Maryland was created to provide a refuge from these environmental triggers and offer a unique and soothing microclimate designed to alleviate the symptoms of these conditions and promote optimal sinus and respiratory health. Breathing properly strengthens the heart and immune system; relaxes the nervous system; reduces pain; enhances sleep, mental and physical performance; and provides the perfect focal point to effectively bridge the mind/body connection to facilitate our natural ability to balance and heal. We invite you to visit the Sanctuary to relax, refresh, rejuvenate and enjoy all the benefits of breathing easy!
Working in healthcare for over 25 years as a clinician, educator, and administrator I’ve had the privilege to work with people of all ages and walks of life in a variety of settings to include HeadStart, corporate wellness, nursing homes, hospital, and hospice. Seeing firsthand the value of health throughout the lifespan and the suffering of those that struggle with breathing difficulties, my mission is to provide a holistic, drug-free, non-invasive and affordable resource to improve and maintain respiratory health for people of all ages in our community. This mission led me to create the Salt Sanctuary of Maryland.
